Air Source Heat Pumps
Air source heat pumps deliver domestic hot water and space heating, very much like a ground source heat pump. The difference between the two is that an air source heat pump is easier and cheaper to install because there is no need for the ground loop. This makes the heat pump available for virtually everyone, even if you have a very little or no garden. An air source heat pump simply sucks the heat out of the air.Nature is full of power. You have to go as low as -273 degrees Celsius until every bit of energy has been drained out of the air. With the help of an air source heat pump, at least some of Mother Nature's FREE energy can be captured and used as heat for domestic hot water and space heating. This type of heat pump is definitely economical.
With an air source heat pump we can still extract thermal energy from outside temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius! Taken over a year, Mother Nature will "give" around half of your usual heating costs to you for FREE. There is the option of having it placed in the garden or garage if you would like to save space in your home or workplace.
How does an Air Source Heat Pump work?
Although an Air Source Heat Pump is slightly less efficient compared with a Ground Source Heat Pump, the installation cost are much less.
