giving something back

Today, Anglodutch has been working with teachers and students in Doncaster, contributing to the newly introduced Diploma’s, in this case the diploma regarding construction. It was an honour and a pleasure to spend time with the students and teachers.

The construction Diploma covers the wide spectrum of the industry, from planning to the finished product. Climate change & the environment, insulation, utilities and sustainability and the newest heating technologies in Britain are part of it all.

The students of today are the architects, planners, clerks and builders of tomorrow. Surely, the customers of tomorrow do want to buy a property with highly efficient and low maintenance heating systems.

I would like to thank the teachers and the students for trusting AngloDutch to be part of the construction diploma. We hope that we have made a positive contribution.

Good, Better, Best

Hello again Everybody, we are pleased to inform you of the latest news and exiting progress. As mentioned in another blog before, the energy prices are likely to go up by 60 percent by 2016 and this is officially announced by Ofgem. This can cut the payback times of your investment for an energy saving system in half and bringing the financial returns in a few years earlier, a double whammy of an incentive if you’d ask me!

Yesterday we did meet up with our suppliers of top quality solar and heat pump systems Stiebel-Eltron. We have been supplied with the latest software to serve our customers even quicker and better. The software has 30.000 system applications and with a few details from your home or business and energy use can we give you a price indication for an efficient heating system the same day.

Stiebel-Eltron has informed that the warranty system that we can offer is to be extended by five years to seven (7) years with immediate effect. Conditions are that the system is a 100 percent Stiebel-Eltron system and installed and serviced by their accredited installers, that’s all! Not only will your heating system be top of the range, the latest technology and a genuine 100% German product that you can rely on, now it is backed for seven years too. AngloDutch is very proud to be working with a no-nonsense company like Stiebel-Eltron, deliver and install the best equipment with the best service and the best back up.

For businesses that want to have a very efficient and cost saving heating system there is another added incentive too. Stiebel-Eltron has introduced a leasing option for commercial systems, spreading the cost while savings are made too! Yes, a leasing company needs to earn it’s money too but that said, the savings will more than cover that. Marketing and tendering will become so much easier too because a lot of businesses, and definitely government, often demand from suppliers to be environmentally friendly.  Fighting climate change, save money, spread cost, added marketing value and peace of mind…               Value for money.

In Mississippi there was a man sitting in a rocking chair outside on the wooden decking, outside of his house. On the decking was his dog laying and crying constantly. A passer by heard and saw the dog which was not tied down and free to roam. The passer-by asked the man in the rocking chair why the dog was crying and should it be brought to the vet? The man in the rocking chair answered: No, he’s okay, the dog is just laying on a nail that’s sticking out of the deck. So why does the dog not move and go lay somewhere else, the passer by asked? The man in the rocking chair said: It probably don’t hurt him enough.

award finalists

Last week did AngloDutch receive the message that they are finalists for the Chartered Institute Of Builders  GREEN AWARD. The Green Award of the CIOB will be presented by Frank Haslam Milan Ltd, at a prestigious gala dinner in Sheffield.

Yesterday a message came from the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce saying that AngloDutch Services is a finalist for the Green Award from the Doncaster Chamber that will be presented by Polypipe Ltd. at the annual gala dinner in December this year.

Ernst van den Berg of AngloDutch Services is very happy with these nominations, saying:”We are a young business and didn’t expect this at all. This sure means a lot to us and this tells the customers that we are taking our customer service and responsibility to the community serious”.

AngloDutch Services has finished an introduction programme with DE4L, the organisation that brings enterprise and the education system together. Ernst will play a part with the newly introduced construction diploma at Hall-Cross school.

The Doncaster Chamber of Commerce has invited AngloDutch Services to work the education  system too. Ernst has gladly accepted the invite. The Young Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber are also asking for AngloDutch Services to play a part with in their services.

Ernst knows that the future of the renewable energy industry is important and that the young people today need to be aware of this growing industry. Also climate change is a very big and growing topic that deserves attention. The Netherlands (TNO) forecast 100.000 sustainable jobs in renewable energy and Britain is at least four times bigger. The young people today need to be informed of this.

AngloDutch are looking forward to the Award presentations but knows that it has serious contenders. Good luck to all who entered all the various categories.

60% the BBC reports!

The BBC reports that UK energy bills could rise by 60% by the year 2016 in a worst-case scenario is identified by OFGEM, the energy regulator. The review said that £200 billion of investment is needed to ensure supplies and to meet carbon reducing targets set by London and Europe.

Britain is no longer an energy island and is becoming heavily dependent on Russian gas. This may be a worrying scenario as Russia may, again, close the taps to the Ukraine, the country that has got major pipelines running through it.

Global economic forces are pushing up  the energy prices tremendously in the near future. The BBC reported yesterday that OFGEM expects that the utility bills may well rise with a significant 60%.

Where the average domestic energy bill is now about £1150 per year is it not wrong to assume that these may rise with some £700 to over £1850.

With this in mind will there never be a better time to invest in micro-generation, renewable energy. This may well be the biggest incentive since the introduction of renewable energy systems in Britain because pay-back times will be greatly reduced, perhaps even halved.

The high energy prices of the future are allowed by OFGEM for energy companies to invest in new power stations, nuclear, wind and coal. And perhaps this rise in cost will also be allowed to push the public and businesses sectors into replacing in-efficient systems with new highly efficient ones without having to pay out for more incentives and grants on top of the ones available today.

It seems that the choice is going to be like this; pay the cost of high bills untill the end of day, or, invest in your own home or business reducing cost greatly adding value to your home and enjoy greater comfort and peace of mind in your own home.

The 60% energy cost rise is a wort-case scenario. Knowing that the Government is strapped for cash for quite a few years to come do we hold our own opinions on this. But perhaps is it good advise to do your homework into renewable energy systems for your home or business now and be well informed for tomorrow. Click here to make a start.

Renewable energy systems are an investment. The capital cost will be paid back by the savings you will make on your energy bills and thereafter the system can be enjoyed for decades.

that famous Whitney song

Hi Everybody, It is time again to inform you of the latest happenings.

Amongst 6 other Doncaster businesses have I finished an introduction programme with Jacqui Jameson, running the regional programme that brings businesses and the education system together helping students to understand more about the workplace, technologies and or law etc. and job opportunities.

TNO in Holland has forecasted that 100.000 sustainable jobs will be created through the total renewable energy industry in Holland alone! Britain is four to five times bigger than Holland, so do the maths.  Students today need to be made aware of the jobs of tomorrow. They need the jobs and we need the skilled people when this industry kicks of any time soon. When the penny drops…

It is really important that students understand the best efficiencies and best technologies that are available to fight the ever rising energy cost and climate change. Many people still do not know what a heat pump is or how it works. We hope to contribute in this way too. Training the professionals of tomorrow.

About two weeks ago was I invited by the Doncaster Chamber to attend a meeting that was presented by the British Ambassador to Croatia Mr. David Blunt and Ms. Caroline Flint MP. Ambassador Blunt explained that Croatia, and other Balkan states are looking to become EU states in the near future and that an opening exists for British businesses to expand or export into Croatia. An economic spur is expected in the region for some ten years when this down-turn is over. Students today need to be aware of those opporunities too.

It is important that students get to know what job prospects are available to them and what environment they will be living in. We believe that children are the future, was that famous song by Whitney Houston. Fantastic title for a song but perhaps we have not understood the message because we are not the children anymore. We are the grown-ups now having children.

Oh yah, Interest of micro-generation is on the up and rapidly growing. Awareness regarding Feed In Tariff’s are rapidly growing and with that is the interest in solar PV. The recently announced Feed In Tariff is over the top money paid by the grid to people, businesses or institutions that export energy into the grid, for a set number of years. I recommend that you look into this further because this has been a huge success for farmers, home owners and industry in Germany and other European countries.

Micro-generation explained. The renewable energy industry has got two sides it. First there is Macro-generation, these are the wind farms and tidal/wave energy generating set ups etc. Generating large quantities of power to be sold by the utility companies. Micro-generation are the smaller installations for domestic and businesses to use. They are the heat pump and solar systems and more, that generate heat or power to be used on site and smaller quantities exported into the grid. In a nutshell the systems that we supply and install.

Efficiency is everything when it comes to investing in such a system. Having solar panels on your roof top does not guarantee best returns, therefore cheap is not always value for money. In our industry it is efficiency and service that has got to be key.
